Cromane 1-12 Templenoe 0-10
Cromane were at home on Sunday last in the Novice County Championship and after a good sporting contest Cromane emerged victorious. In the first half it was Templenoe who started the brighter with 2 points from play from corner forward Shane Cremins but Cromane drew level after 12 minutes with a pointed free from Gary McGrath aswell as a point from play from Donnachadh Walsh. But it was Templenoe that dominated the next 10 minutes with points from Timmy Clifford, Shane Cremins and from full forward Ogie Sheehan all from play. Cromane ended the half stronger with 2 points from Sean O’Sullivan one from a free and one from play. Colm Joy closed the scoring from Cromane with a point from play to leave the half time score Cromane 0-5 Templenoe 0-5.
In the 2nd half Cromane won possession and kicked a point from play from Gary McGrath but Templenoe responded with a converted free from the boot of Shane Cremins after he was fouled himself. Gary McGrath responded with a pointed close end free for Cromane. Gary McGrath scored the only goal of the game for Cromane after a great run from Sean O’Sullivan saw his shot saved by the keeper where McGrath was on hand to slot it to the net. Templnoe added 2 further points from their head scorer Shane Cremins one from play and one from a free. Sean O’Sullivan then had a great point from play for Cromane. Shane Cremins then tapped over a close end free for Templenoe which was quickly cancelled out with a converted free from Cromane’s Sean O’Sullivan. Cromane had 2 further points one a free from Gary McGrath and the other from play by Clinton Griffin. The last 2 scores of the game came from frees one from Templenoe by Shane Cremins and the other by Gary McGrath for Cromane this left the final score Cromane 1-12 Templenoe 0-10. The game was capably refereed by Mike Curran of Dromid.

Cromane 1-10 Glenbeigh / Glencar 0-10
Cromane were victorious over Glenbeigh / Glencar on Sunday last in Cromane. Cromane had the advantage of the wind in the first half but it was Glenbeigh / Glencar who had the first score a point from Stephen Caulfield. Cromane squandered a lot of early chances a Cromane’s first score came from a sideline ball on the dressing room side from Sean O’Sullivan. Cromane then went into a 3 point lead with 3 points from Gary McGrath; 2 free’s and 1 from play. Then came the only goal of the game which was scored by Sean O’Sullivan after a great passing movement and great work by Sean Walsh. Gary McGrath extended Cromane’s lead with a point from play but Glenbeigh / Glencar pulled a point back when Stephen Caulfield converted a free. Cromane added 2 further points one each from Paul Patrick O’Sullivan and Sean Walsh both from play. Glenbeigh / Glencar but a great move together from deep in Cromane’s half and resulted with a point for midfielder Joe McGuillycuddy. The last score of the half came from Gary McGrath for Cromane with a point from play. Glenbeigh / Glencar had one last attack before the break with a goal bound shot but was cleared off the line by corner back Cian O’Keffee to leave the scores Cromane 1-8 Glenbeigh / Glencar 0-3.
In the 2nd half Glenbeigh / Glencar with the aid of the wind had 2 quick points one from Eugene Courtney and a free from Connie Murphy but Cromane responded with 2 points of their own from Sean Walsh and Paul Patrick O’Sullivan. Glenbeigh / Glencar came more into the game with points from Michael Breen, Stephen Caulfield and Raymond O’Connor. Glenbeigh / Glencar went all out in search of the goal in the closing stages but the Cromane defence stood firm, Glenbeigh / Glencar added 2 late free’s one from Connie Murphy and one from Stephen Caulfield to leave the final score Cromane 1-10 Glenbeigh / Glencar 0-10.

Firies 1-09 Cromane 1-08
Cromane Seniors were away to Firies on Sunday last in Round 3 of the County League. The game was played in good conditions with a strong wind. Cromane had the use of the wind in the first half and were leading at half time on a score of 1-5 to 1-1. The first score of the game was a goal by Gary McGrath for Cromane. Cromane added point from play for James Foley but Firies scored a goal against the run of play. Cromane then had a number of great chances including a goal which was to cost them dearly in the finish, Cromane had two points from Sean O’Sullivan one from play and one from a free. Cromane extended their lead in the closing stages of the first half and added two further points one from Donnacadh Walsh and one from John O’Sullivan. Firies pulled a point back just before the break to leave the half time score Cromane 1-5 Firies 1-1.
In the 2nd half Firies playing with the aid of the wind scored 2 quick frees and cut the Cromane lead to two points. Firies had another point from play which was answered by a point from John O’Sullivan for Cromane but Firies drew level after they scored a further two points one from a free and one from play. Then Firies took the lead with a point from play but the sides were again level after Cromane had a point from James Foley. Firies took the lead again with a converted free and with time running out Cromane drew level with a piont from Gary McGrath. Cromane run the resulting kick out and Sean O’Sullivan raced through the Firies defence but his shot went agonisingly wide. Everyone thought that the game would end in a draw but the referee awarded a free to Firies in injury time to give them victory by a point. The final score was Cromane 1-8 Firies 1-9.
