Duagh 0-12 Cromane 0-05
This game was played in Duagh on a Thursday evening with the home side proving too strong for the Cromane side. Duagh took the game to their opponents from the start with Tim Scanlon opeing the scoring with a point from play. Three unanswered points followed with Tim Dillon providing two from free's with the other coming from the boot of O'Donoghue.
Cromane first score came from the accurate shoot of Gary McGrath from a free and then Sean Walsh kicked a fine point from play to reduce the margin further. Tom Dillon completed the scoring with another pointed free just before the interval at which Duagh led 0-6 to 0-3.
Cromane needed a good start to the second period but it was the home side who opened the better and Tim Scanlon fired over from play. John O''Brien the regular full back was placed at midfield and had a fine point to stretch the lead. Gary McGrath Cromane's best player kicked a fine point to reduce the deficit but this was quickly cancelled by an Anthony Maher effort from play and he followed this with a pointed 40 meter freeto kill off the game as a contest. Cromane got one back via McGrath but Tom Dillon had the final say in the game and pointed 2 late frees forprecious County League points.

Cromane 1-7 Valentia 0-10
Valentia were visitors to Cromane on Sunday last and both teams played out an exciting draw. The cross field wind spoiled the game at times. Valentia were first to score with a pointed free from John Shannahan and a point from play by Muiris O’Sullivan. Gary McGrath had the sides level within minutes when he converted a free and dropped a point over from play for Cromane. Valentia went into a 2 point lead with 2 long range points into the wind but Gary McGrath again had the sides level by the 20th minute when he kicked another point from play aswell as a converted free. Valentia took the lead with a point from play from Alan Curran but the sides were once again level after a pointed free from Gary McGrath after he was fouled himself. Then came the only goal of the game from the boot of Gary McGrath after a great Cromane move. Valentia had the last score of the half with a point from play by Muiris O’Sullivan which left the half time score Cromane 1-4 Valentia 0-6.
In the 2nd half Cromane extended their lead to 3 points with 2 points a converted 21 m free and a point from play both from Gary McGrath. Valentia had a great chance of a goal but the shot went straight across the goal mouth but went narrowly wide. Valentia then had 2 points from John Shannahan one from a free and one from play to leave 1 point between the sides. Valentia then drew level with a point from a free from John Shannhan, Cromane had 2 great goal chances but were stopped in their tracks by the Valentia goal keeper and went wide. Valentia took a one point lead with a point from play from John Shannahan but in the dying minutes Cromane were awarded a 21m free which was topped over by Gary McGrath to leave the sides level at full time. Gary McGrath was the only scorer for Cromane on the day.

Novice Football Championship
Cromane 1-12 Templenoe 0-10
Cromane were at home on Sunday last in the Novice County Championship and after a good sporting contest Cromane emerged victorious. In the first half it was Templenoe who started the brighter with 2 points from play from corner forward Shane Cremins but Cromane drew level after 12 minutes with a pointed free from Gary McGrath aswell as a point from play from Donnachadh Walsh. But it was Templenoe that dominated the next 10 minutes with points from Timmy Clifford, Shane Cremins and from full forward Ogie Sheehan all from play. Cromane ended the half stronger with 2 points from Sean O’Sullivan one from a free and one from play. Colm Joy closed the scoring from Cromane with a point from play to leave the half time score Cromane 0-5 Templenoe 0-5.

Cromane 1-10 Glenbeigh / Glencar 0-10
Cromane were victorious over Glenbeigh / Glencar on Sunday last in Cromane. Cromane had the advantage of the wind in the first half but it was Glenbeigh / Glencar who had the first score a point from Stephen Caulfield. Cromane squandered a lot of early chances a Cromane’s first score came from a sideline ball on the dressing room side from Sean O’Sullivan. Cromane then went into a 3 point lead with 3 points from Gary McGrath; 2 free’s and 1 from play. Then came the only goal of the game which was scored by Sean O’Sullivan after a great passing movement and great work by Sean Walsh. Gary McGrath extended Cromane’s lead with a point from play but Glenbeigh / Glencar pulled a point back when Stephen Caulfield converted a free. Cromane added 2 further points one each from Paul Patrick O’Sullivan and Sean Walsh both from play. Glenbeigh / Glencar but a great move together from deep in Cromane’s half and resulted with a point for midfielder Joe McGuillycuddy.
